Opening of Narromine Campaign Office

Mayor Craig Davies to open Mathew Dickerson’s campaign office in Narromine

On Friday 14 December, the Narromine campaign office of independent candidate, Mathew Dickerson, will be officially opened. Local Elder Ruth Carney will welcome guests to Country before Mayor of Narromine Shire Council, Councillor Craig Davies, officially opens the Narromine Campaign office. In attendance also will be former Mayors of Narromine Shire Council: Bill McAnally; Dawn Collins and Bob Barnett.

This will be the third campaign office for Mathew Dickerson with offices already opened in Wellington and Dubbo. The office in Dubbo was officially opened by former Members of this State seat, John Mason and Dawn Fardell.

The opening of the Narromine office aligns with Mr Dickerson’s strategy of ensuring that he reaches across the entire electorate. With half of the population in the electorate based in Dubbo, it would be very easy for a candidate to focus just on Dubbo. On 22 May when Mr Dickerson made his announcement, he made a commitment to visit all localities across the electorate and to be the voice of the entire electorate. Having multiple campaign offices in the electorate shows further commitment to the electorate.

“I have visited all localities in the Narromine Shire. From Dandaloo to Burroway; from Tomingley to Bundemar; in Gin Gin and Trangie. Every individual person in every part of the electorate is important to me and deserves to be heard. To be an effective voice you need to listen to people across the electorate,” Mr Dickerson said.

“I have also met with all Councils in the electorate to further understand their needs and I am honoured that Mayor Craig Davies will be cutting the ribbon at my opening as the representative of the entire Shire.”

Mayor Craig Davies said, “I was the first Mayor in the electorate to officially meet with Mathew after he made his announcement and I have already met with him several times since. I have been impressed by his passion and enthusiasm and most of all, his attitude towards our region. I look forward to officially wielding the scissors on Friday.”

Elder Ruth Carney said, “Early on in the campaign, Mathew met with myself and a group of representatives of the Historical Museum. He listened intently to the group and followed up on several issues raised during the meeting. Having a representative who will listen and act for us is incredibly important. I will be honoured to perform a Welcome to Country at Mathew’s opening.”
