Tour de OROC only thirty logos from new Guinness World Record
The push for sponsors and riders for the 2019 version of the Tour de OROC has been in full swing since the official launch on 23 May this year.
Despite very tough economic conditions in the region, sponsors have been signing up to support the event again and individual sponsors have been donating to the dedicated GiveNow page.
After initially setting the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of logos on a piece of sporting apparel in 2013, the record has been subsequently broken by a group in England and an attempt was made in the Caribbean before being secured again by Tour de OROC in 2017. In 2019 an attempt will be made to break the record once more.
With the deadline for printing of jerseys only days away, there is one last chance for sponsors to sign up to the event and have their logo appear on a world record jersey.
There are varying levels of sponsorship available with corresponding sponsor benefits and logo sizes. Platinum sponsorship is $6,000 with Gold at $4,000, Silver at $2,000 and Bronze at $250. There are limits on the three higher levels of sponsorship to ensure appropriate exposure for each of the higher levels of sponsorship.
“Thank you to all of the sponsors who have already committed their money to help raise money for Macquarie Home Stay. With just another thirty sponsors we will again secure the GWR and, more importantly, be able to continue to contribute to Macquarie Home Stay,” said Mathew Dickerson, Chairman of the Rotary Club of Dubbo South organising committee.
Mike Tomalaris will be joining the peloton as the celebrity guest rider. Apart from being a very keen cyclist himself, Mr Tomalaris is known around the world for his commentary during the Tour de France and other cycling events, with a commentary career that stretches back as far as the Commonwealth Bank Cycle Classic in 1992.
